Treating two original warehouse structures as “found objects,” and using ribbed glass and board-formed concrete, we created a nuanced relationship between the new construction and existing buildings, consciously blurring the distinction between the comfort of home and the intensity of the work environment. The contrast between textured materials such as reclaimed wood and encaustic cement tile, with more industrial materials, honors the company’s vision for their workplace as a “factory for making”.
