This hillside family duplex commands the view of the Mediterranean Sea and Mount Carmel.
The 40 year old house was built with clearly divided spaces and small windows.
The renovation was conceptualized with the use of natural resources in the house- Natural light, the breathtaking view and the fresh air.
By tearing down the dividing walls between the kitchen, living room and dining room, we created an expansive, open and welcoming space. We installed bigger windows and built a hovering terrace. We also created an entrance from the kitchen to a cozy outdoor sitting area. We built a gallery on the ground floor, overseeing the living area, that’s used as an open work space.
The design concept was augmented by the tenant’s eccentric modernist art pieces, adding a unique sense of creativity and bold dramatic colors to the space.
The clean carpentry works beautifully alongside textile and dominant railings.
The use of luxurious black marble that reflects the space alongside a handcrafted and artistic red iron railing give the space a dramatic flair, contrasted by soft lighting that envelops the house in warmth.
