Black Swan | Gregory Emvy

Every person goes through transformative periods in life that have to do with their personal or professional development, changing attitudes towards work and family, and they eventually result in rethinking the values and priorities.

Generated my past experience I decide to create the series of furniture which call «Black Swan».
The «Black Swan» is an occurrence that deviates beyond what is normally expected of a situation and that would be extremely difficult to predict. This term was popularized by Nassim Nicholas Taleb's book "The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable."

A black swan in general means an event that has not occurred in the past, thus rendering useless risk management models based on historic data. Such a risk model would assume that all swans were white. For me this series of artworks were confession where I was able to know my internal world better.

My experience living and working in Mexico, getting acquainted with its nature and culture reshaped to a great extent my artistic vision and the vision of beauty through my soul.
So please join me in this exploration of two entities - an artist's imagination and its physical expression.
