The lecture hall of Heidelberg University – inconspicuous and usual. Functional stacking chairs. Practical folding tables. But no longer…

At first the lecture hall appears classical and neutral. This impression is created, because of the optical interacting of the white walls with the white HPL-laminate coated seat shells and table edges. The deeper the viewer enters the room, the more the actual effect of that interaction between architecture and furniture takes place.

The front side of the seat shells consists of real oak wood veneers and adjust to the window frames, which are made of real oak wood. The different colours of the seat upholstery harmonize with the floor covering. At the same time, they weaken the intensity of its red tone. This creates a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere, which is why Heidelberg University has planned to continue its work with Bastian Stöcklein for their entire new building.

But such an effect does not only occur due to a creative interior designer and an interdisciplinary overall concept. It also requires furniture made out of high-quality material, that is individual adapted and processed.

Thanks to Bastian Stöcklein, his interdisciplinary strategy makes it a synthesis of arts and therefor leaves an impression. The products of MalscherSitzMöbel complete the architectural quality of the usually classical lecture hall and create a special atmosphere.

My aim is not to sell the products of MalscherSitzMöbel, but to achieve a synthesis of arts. The architecture of the room and the furniture should complement each other and there should be an interplay between them. The young managing director Bastian Stöcklein explains, that a special impression occurs in this way, that’s impressive.“

The scenography is the doctrine of the staging and grounds the foundation of the concept of the young interior designer: Embedded in the room, for which the objects were created for, they raise emotions through this unique furnishing concept, as only staged statues in an exhibition can do so - synthesis of the arts arise, just as recently the lecture hall of the University of Heidelberg.
