A.G. House | Rocco Borromini

Il progetto nasce dall'esigenza di realizzare un' abitazione per una giovane coppia sul versante Retico delle Alpi Valtellinesi.

Il sito su cui sorge la casa è costituito dalla soletta di copertura di un' autorimessa seminterrata che si affaccia a sud con gli accessi ai garage e che si estende a ovest verso un giardino.

Il lotto gode di un' ottima posizione panoramica da tutti i fronti.

Il primo tema formale è stato quello di connettere la nuova edificazione al manufatto preesistente, per sopperire a questa esigenza si è pensato di creare una struttura che in parte lo coprisse ed allo stesso tempo fungesse da struttura portante per la copertura, sul lato sud si è scelto quindi di realizzare dei pilastri su due livelli che sorreggono un susseguirsi di capriate.

L'orditura è completamente realizzata in legno di rovere massiccio, questa scelta ha fatto aumentare le dimensioni di travi e pilastri ma conferisce all'insieme una matericità eccezionale.

I fronti est e nord sono stati rivestiti in pietra locale a spacco così come la parte preesistente del fronte sud.

Lo spazio tra i pilastri a sud ovest garantisce una penetrazione di luci e ombre nei mesi invernali per buona parte della zona giorno.

L'utilizzo delle capriate in copertura ha permesso di far si che il timpano, sostenendosi autonomamente, potesse essere completamente svuotato dando spazio a grandi vetrate che incorniciano bellissimi scorci delle montagne circostanti.

Entrando dal giardino la zona pranzo e living presenta una doppia altezza e si estende sopra il soppalco, al di sotto di questo trovano posto la cucina, una camera e un bagno.

Le poche divisioni interne permettono di avere diverse angolazioni di visuale sulle grandi vetrate panoramiche.

Il tema interno è di uno spazio molto pulito e luminoso caratterizzato dall’alternarsi di legno massiccio e preti bianche.

Il tema compositivo si ispira formalmente ad un architettura tipica dell’arco alpino così come il riuso dei materiali della tradizione.

The project stems from the need to create a home for a young couple on the Rhaetian side of the Valtellina Alps.

The site on which the house stands is constituted by the roof slab of a basement garage that faces south with access to the garages and which extends west to a garden.

The lot enjoys an excellent panoramic position from all fronts.

The first formal theme was connect the new building to the pre-existing building, to meet this need we thought to create a structure that partly covered it and at the same time served as a supporting structure for the roof, on the south side some pillars on two levels support a succession of trusses.

The warping is completely made of solid oak wood, this choice has increased the size of beams and pillars but gives the whole an exceptional materiality.

The east and north fronts have been clad in splitted local stone as well as the pre-existing part of the southern front.

The space between the south-west pillars ensures a penetration of light and shade in the winter months for most of the living area.

The use of the roof trusses allowed the tympanum, supporting itself, could be completely emptied giving space to large windows that frame beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Entering from the garden the dining and living area has a double height and extends above the mezzanine, below this there is a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom.

The few internal divisions allow you to have different viewing angles on the large panoramic windows.

The interior theme is a very clean and bright space characterized by the

alternation of solid wood and white walls.

The compositional theme is formally inspired by a typical architecture of the Alpine arc as well as the reuse of traditional materials.
