Integration into the master plan
As a central component between the campus square and the forum, the new auditorium building occupies a key position in the master plan for the expansion of Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and Osnabrück University. The incision at the bottom of the cubic volume makes the auditorium building appear as a generous, spatial link between the adjoining student canteen and the library. The roofed forecourt underneath the cantilevered section defines a new, identity-generating meeting point on the university campus and demonstratively conveys the university’s future-oriented aspiration.
Innovative learning landscape
The auditorium building combines seminar rooms and lecture halls characterised by a compact and economic basic layout with an open learning landscape for the implementation of innovative and unconventional learning concepts. Inside the building, an artificial topography develops across several levels, which, as a spatial continuation of the forum, creates a central place to communicate, learn together and exchange information.
