Library of Briosco
Briosco / Italy / 2014
The project consists in an underground building from irregular shape slender, hidden from view for observers placed at the foot of the hill, but open to South-Easts front along the excavation in which juts an access ramp.
The architectural composition is obtained through the combination of more rooms, each one responsible for specific functions, different from each other by shapes, elevations and technical solutions.
The library room's interception guarantees isolation from external noises. Route thorugh library's spaces is exalted by differences of vertical surfaces and natural lighting which changes in each one, resulting wealth of visual perception.
The linear "cut" in the hill is the track that holds together volumes, still recognizable on the roof plan which is a set of squares with variety of surface materials and opening's solutions.
