XI House is a project built up from the cross-section and the concept of promenade architectural

The house is entirely organised upon a central ascendant/descendant axis where is placed the staircase. This, -therefore a main element of the project- is wrapped in iroko wood strips that emphasizes the verticality and grow tinged with the abundant natural light.

This architectural element articulates the different floors of the house. This “semi-floors”- that take approximately half the dimension of the plot- organise the program according to the function, privacy, light, space requirements….

In the Ground floor we find the access, the parking, some servant spaces and a patio in the backside.

From the hall of the house we can decide to go down to the basement or to go up to the domestic spaces of the project which are placed in the upper floors. In the basement is placed a workshop that takes the light both from the street and from a courtyard in the backside.

In the First floor there is a double bedroom, a bathroom and a dressing room which is intended to be used by the guests of the family

In the Second floor, we find the master bedroom also with its dressing room, a bathroom and a studio.

Finally in the Last floor we meet the main spaces of the house that enjoy the lighting, air and distance from the neighbours: the living, the dining, the kitchen, a terrace and the swimming pool

Here, we can enjoy the sight of the roofs of Burjassot, to experience the time passing and feel the changes on the lighting and the atmosphere, enjoying the urban landscape where the house is placed in.

The facade is built with a white perforated concrete screen that makes a reference to the Mediterranean character of the city and creates a subtle play of lights and shadows in the interior that follows the walks in the house. The walks, the light, the half-light, the look, a rich and complex spatial relationship between the different spaces of the house as much as a care relationship interior/exterior are the main elements of the project.
