Japanese company baLon manages beauty salons in Japan, their aim has been to create relaxing environments in which to make their visitors beautiful. Located in Chiba ‘baLon.tre’ was designed to reinforce the impression of maximum space within the confines of the building, this illusion of space has been achieved by the combination of high ceiling louvres and the herringbone patterned floor, other details include a large glass table on which the mission statement has been printed. The theme of lightness has been continued throughout the building, to include the furniture which is supported by slim legs to create the impression of items floating in space.
