In the two completed projects in San Francisco and Shanghai, Michael CF Chan & Asso. experimented an unique innovative design element used in interior space-"stepping ramp".
By combining stair and ramp into one new interior element, we created a bridge-like connection between two floors. The new we call it "stepping ramp" acts beyond the traditional functional interior staircases or code-complied interior ramps, it's a new element in interior design.
It creates travel experience inside the building, acting like an interior bridge.
It elongates the space.
It is flexible to adjust stepping locations.
It's interesting and beautiful.
