The 320-meter bridge over the Jaboatão River, besides providing the urban expansion of Recife in the southern direction of the capital, is an alternative to the congested BR-101 in access to the beaches of the southern coast of the state.

The bike path was a continuation of the vast network of cycle routes on the edge of Recife, re-qualifying the traditional “road work”, extending its use to the cyclist and the pedestrian, with quality and comfort, including two lookout plazas, from which we can observe day and night born in the sea.

We also designed the Toll Area and the Operational Control Centre (CCO) in Barra de Jangada, next to the Bridge, and the other Toll Plaza, at the opposite end of the Coqueiros Route, in Itapuama, with a small Operational Support building.

The structural system of the cars traffic part of the Bridge was that of “cellular section”, executed by “successive swings”, and the one of the Bikes and Pedestrians with the Plazas, is cable-stayed.

The creation of rings at the top of the two masts allowed the placement of luminaires that eliminated the need for light poles.
