For our Munich Deutsches Museum Motel One, the neighbouring museum inspired not just the name but also the style of the One Lounge. The interior pays extensive tribute to natural sciences and technology. The entire One Lounge light concept was created by internationally renowned light designer Ingo Maurer, incorporating design classics like the Johnny B. Good, XXL Dome and Zettel'z. The back wall of the reception desk also boasts an innovative Maurer installation – here he has revisits his classic work ‘Holonzki’ in a new and unique way. Each glass plate is illuminated at a precisely defined angle by its own spotlight concealed in the ceiling, resulting in an impressive display of holograms. The recurring motif – particularly apt for the Deutsches Museum – is the light bulb, the symbol of inspired ingenuity
