The new society of the “Riberas de Loiola” district couldn’t be just one more gastronomical society of the city. We propose to rethink the concept of society that we all know and look for an image and a way of working in accordance to the neighborhood: a young neighborhood, full of life and famous for its squares, squares filled with people who enjoy the leisure areas that the district offers to the neighborhood.
 
The kitchen is the main piece of this new meeting point. A totally open space that gains prominence and operates as hinge between the two dining areas empowering the communication of spaces.
Having 2 dining areas, one for 44 diners and one smaller for 28, allows a high versatility of usage. The smaller one is directly connected to the “Paloma Miranda” Plaza and has an independent access from the porch. The large dining area enjoys a sunny and glazed corner and its entrance is directly from the “Nemesio Etxaniz” street.

Both dining areas are fully communicated with the kitchen. A large kitchen with a central cooking island and a perimeter worktop that ends in 2 counters that serve both dining rooms. In the communication space, the corridor widens in the area near the pillar, creating a space linked to the kitchen but out of it, perfect for the preparation of coffees or drinks.

The wall that separates from the entrance hall of the dwellings is covered with a white paneling to generate a deep cabinet with “L” shape that goes unnoticed but offers a large storage capacity (wardrobe, tableware, cellar ...).

White walls and clear colors to maximize natural light and visual comfort in a rainy climate such as the one of San Sebastian. Some elements of natural pinewood provide warmth to this neutral and clear background.

In the ceiling, the lighting is solved with wooden lamps that light up the room with warm light and reproduce faithfully the neighborhood’s urban plan, with its characteristic blocks. Because this is the society of the “Riberas de Loiola” district. The neighborhood of the squares.
