the project occupies a steeply sloping site orientated directly south in the rhone valley. the house’s three volumes and terraced walls are juxtaposed to create a dynamic composition, distributed over different levels following the site’s natural topography and integrating the scheme with the landscape.  the building offers articulated volumes that permit the creation of distinct spaces, extending the living areas to the exterior, in the open aspect created by the terracing or the intimate and graceful patio with its tree.

the façade’s finish is mixed with fragments of quartz, giving a mineral image. the building seems part of the earth, like the surrounding vineyard walls. inside, the mineral quality of the ceilings and polished cement floor contrast with the walnut furnishings and the colour of the northern walls, which act as background to the southerly light that  animates and enlarges the spaces.  the tone of the bedrooms is warmer, with their massive timber floor boards and white linen.

due to efficient thermal insulation and controlled ventilation, this renovation respects the minergie standards.
