The project is located above the village of Grimisuat on a south-facing plot with a view over the Rhône floodplain. The plot is on a gentle slope and ends downstream with a very steep embankment. The house is reminiscent of a hut due to its pitched roof, small size and wooden cladding. It is close to vegetation and overhangs the edge of the slope.  It enjoys breathtaking views and plenty of privacy.

Built for an elderly couple, the project is spread over a single level. The plan shows specific areas: kitchen, bathroom, patio and terrace forming a continuous living space, creating sub-spaces with multiple characters and relations. The house is intimate but open to the countryside, which leads to varied links with the environment. The patio provides access to the house and is a real open-air room, while the terrace on the south faces the void, giving the impression of living in the trees.

The floor is covered with dark flooring, creating a strong contrast with the concrete walls, thus reinforcing the sensation of a continuous space. The service areas like the kitchen, bathroom and entrance hall are characterised by their lower ceiling height and green tint. The façade is covered with anthracite vertical wooden slats. The patio and terrace are sunken and, with their metal cladding, have the same green tint as the kitchen and bathroom.
