Il progetto si configura come un’ installazione temporanea posizionata al di sopra del palazzo storico a lato della Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Piazza Duomo a Milano. La struttura ospita un ristorante costituito da un’unica sala, con cucina a vista, dove è disposto un unico grande tavolo capace di ospitare massimo 18 ospiti che hanno la possibilità di pranzare o cenare in una location unica a pochi metri dalla Cattedrale. Il tavolo da 18 posti è in grado di scomparire alzandosi verso il soffitto a formare un’area lounge per il dopocena. Il concept del ristorante è flessibile e adattabile alle diverse ambientazioni in cui è collocato infatti il progetto prevede che l’architettura possa essere allestita sulla copertura di diversi edifici esistenti collocati in una posizione strategica della città di Milano, ma anche in diverse città in Europa, in modo da avere un’elevata visibilità pubblica. La sala da pranzo è separata dalla terrazza esterna, utilizzabile per aperitivi o eventi, da grandi vetrate completamente apribili. “The Cube” è una struttura realizzata in carpenteria metallica, legno e facciata in vetro rivestita da una “pelle” in alluminio tagliata al laser dal disegno geometrico. La struttura portante è realizzata in mattoni pieni mentre i solai di copertura sono in laterocemento. La struttura leggera del ristorante è accentuata dalla scelta del colore bianco della lamiera di rivestimento Trattandosi di una struttura leggera gli elementi strutturali sono stati dimensionati tenendo conto che l’azione predominante è quella orizzontale provocata dal vento.

The project is configured as a temporary installation located above the historic building next to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Piazza Duomo in Milan. The structure houses a restaurant consisting of a single room, with open kitchen, where there is a single large table that can accommodate up to 18 guests who have the opportunity to have lunch or dinner in a unique location a few meters from the Cathedral. The 18-seater table is able to disappear by rising towards the ceiling to form a lounge area for after dinner. The concept of the restaurant is flexible and adaptable to the different settings in which it is located. The project foresees that the architecture can be set up on the roof of several existing buildings located in a strategic position of the city of Milan, but also in different cities in Europe. in order to have a high public visibility. The dining room is separated from the outdoor terrace, which can be used for aperitifs or events, with large windows that can be completely opened. "The Cube" is a structure made of metallic carpentry, wood and glass façade covered with a laser-cut aluminum "skin" with a geometric design. The supporting structure is made of solid bricks while the roof slabs are in brick. The light structure of the restaurant is accentuated by the choice of the white color of the cladding sheet. Being a light structure the structural elements have been sized taking into account that the predominant action is the horizontal one caused by the wind.
