Due porte residenziali tra natura e città monumentale dell'EUR_Two residential accesses between nature and monumental city of EUR | Sara Fortuna

Il progetto si inserisce in un importante contesto storico della città di Roma, ovvero il quartiere EUR. Detto anche E42, il quartiere nasce durante il periodo del regime fascita come affermazione del potere del regime e si pone come collegamento tra la vecchia Urbe della città eterna ed il mare. E' dunque importante mettere in evidenza la chiave linguistica del progetto che vuole essere un richiamo alle architetture razionaliste fasciste con un linguaggio moderno. Gli edifici sono poi posti in stretta relazione con i complessi  ESSO ed SGI progettati da Moretti e Marpurgo nel 1962: è evidente infatti il modello compositivo ripreso da tali fabbricati che utilizzano due lotti speculari tra loro con rispettivi edifici distanti ciascuno 50m dall’asse d’accesso alla città.Già dagli schizzi preliminari di Moretti si evince la volontà da parte dell’architetto di attribuire ai due corpi di fabbrica il ruolo di ingresso monumentale: ortogonali al tracciato di via C.Colombo, i due palazzi gemelli offrono una elegante immagine di modernità anche se rimandano vistosamente all’architettura delle città antiche creando una sorta di varco murario d’ingresso.Attualmente l’EUR, oltre ad essere zona residenziale, è sede di uffici sia pubblici che privati e con il progetto di riqualificazione urbana tutt’ora in atto mira a divenire un nuovo polo di rappresentanza istituzionale. Alla base del progetto vi sono inoltre delle attente analisi socio-demografiche che hanno messo in evidenza il rapporto tra domanda ed offerta per giungere poi allo sviluppo delle tipologie di alloggio e delle dinamiche degli spazi pubblici progettati. Una particolare attenzione è stata inoltre data alle soluzioni energetiche con l'utilizzo di impianti fotovoltaici, impianti di recupero delle acque piovane in aggiunta all'utilizzo di soluzioni tecnologiche all'avanguardia per quanto riguarda l'involucro e sfruttando al meglio l'esposizione degli ambienti tramite un'accurata progettazione.

The project is part of an important historical context of the city of Rome, the EUR quarter. Also called the E42, the district was born during the period of the fascist regime as an affirmation of the power of the regime and it sets as a link between the old Urbe of the eternal city and the sea. It is therefore important to highlight the project's linguistic key , which wants to be a reference to fascist rationalist architectures with a modern language. The buildings are then in close contact with the ESSO and SGI complexes designed by Moretti and Marpurg in 1962. It is evident that the compositional model resumed by these buildings, which use two specular loupes each with their respective buildings, each 50 meters from the  access to the city. From the preliminary sketches of Moretti, it is evident  the architect's intention to attribute the monumental entrance to the two factory buildings: orthogonal to the C.Colombo road, the two twin palaces offer an elegant image of modernity, even though they vividly refer to the architecture of ancient cities, creating a kind of entrance wall. Currently, the EUR, in addition to being a residential area, is home to both public and private offices and with the urban upgrading project still the aim is to become a new institution of institutional representation. At the base of the project there are also careful socio-demographic analyzes that have highlighted the relationship between demand and supply to come to the development of housing types and the dynamics of the planned public spaces.Particular attention has also been paid to energy solutions by using photovoltaic systems, rainwater recovery systems in addition to the use of state-of-the-art technology solutions for the envelope and making the most of the exposure of the environments through careful design.
