The E4 Brickhouse of Romania | Tecto Arhitectura

With the new European strategies and action plans for building energy performance requirements, the Austrian group Wienerberger initiated in some EU Member States a program called E4 – with Es coming from Energy, Economy, Ecology and Emotion. The program consists of developing a good design for an attractive and affordable low energy consumption home; the building will be then built with ceramic elements and monitored to validate the initial theoretical estimations and/or lead to improvements. As a major player in the construction industry its main challenge is to see how a traditional material may be efficient, sustainable and cost effective and, above this, it’s still able to bring life for buildings with a contemporary innovative designs.
