Built in the early ’90s, the building no longer met international tertiary-building standards.
The client therefore wanted to extensively restructure its overall function to overcome its obsolescence, adapt it to new environmental norms and give it a new architectural identity. Following on a structural diagnosis and probing the way in which the walls had been made, a new functional, spatial attitude and another wall system based on a double, ventilated-glass skin with solar protection were decided on.

The river’s proximity encouraged the project to opt for a protean sparkle effect. To achieve it the windows were overlaid with 9-square meter glass panels, folded diagonally, creating two triangles separated by a sharp crest. So the upper triangle reflects sky while the lower one the ceaseless movement of the river and city.
This prismatic overcoat with lively, sparkling glints plays on perception, scale, accumulation and translucency. It creates a strong identity through the quality of the materials and way they are used, an identity that gives a new lease on life to the building.

Situé à Boulogne Billancourt, face à la Seine, dans le triangle des média télévisuels, le bâtiment construit au début des années 90 ne correspondait plus aux standards tertiaires internationaux.
Il a été envisagé par le client de restructurer lourdement le fonctionnement général de l’édifice pour palier à la fois à son obsolescence, pour l’adapter aux nouvelles normes environnementales et d’offrir une nouvelle identité architecturale à l’édifice.

Après un diagnostique structurel et des sondages sur le mode de fabrication des façades, il a été envisagé une nouvelle disposition fonctionnelle, spatiale et un système de façade basé sur une double peau ventilée de verre à l’intérieur de laquelle est positionnée la protection solaire.

La proximité du fleuve, a orienté le projet vers la recherche d’un scintillement changeant. Pour obtenir cet effet, les panneaux de verre sont pliés en diagonale, créant deux triangles séparé par une arête vive, le premier reflète le ciel, le second les mouvements incessants de la ville.

Ce manteau prismatique aux reflets mouvants et cristallins, joue sur la perception, l’échelle, l’accumulation, la transparence; il crée par la qualité du matériaux et la préciosité de sa mise en œuvre, une identité forte qui va accompagner la seconde vie de l’édifice.
