The door bells installation process is very much easy. With the limited skill, you can install the doorbells. The pleasant sound of the doorbells can shake your guest. Installation Steps:

Step 1 - Locate a Power Source

Different doorbells run into a different power. Some runs with the power outlet and some with the batteries. If you need the power source then place the doorbells close to the 120V power supply. Some device needs the power supply and has the rechargeable battery inside.

Step 2 - Turn Off the Power

It is an important to turn off the power supply of the device before configuring the full system. Use the voltage meter to check the voltage of the outlet. Then figure out the wire system, which one is the line and which is neutral. For this use the tester.

Step 3 - Run the Two-stranded Wire

Most of the doorbell manufacturing company uses the two wire system device. One is the line, and another is for the neutral. If you hold the tester on the line wire, you can see the tester light is glowing and the neutral line won't glow. If the location of the bell is far from the line then use the long wire system. 

Step 4 - Run the Three-stranded Wire

Run the three standard wire from the chime to the location of the transformers.

Step 5 - Mount the Bell or Chime

Place the chime in the desired location as you wanted. Use the pencil and mark very lightly to the location of the holes you wanted. Join the chime to the wall using the plastic anchors. The company usually provides the anchors with the device. Depending on the surface, drywall, masonary, wood you need to use the anchor. Then drill the desired holes on the wall.

Step 6 - Connect the Chime Wires

The door bells need to wire properly. Many manufacturer companies add the second button for another entrance. The three wiring system indicated the two button bells. Placing the chime with the instruction is necessary.

Remove the outer sheathing from the three stranded wire and strip it about 1/2 inch from the ends of each wire. Use the pair of wire strippers. Loopback the black wire around the T terminal, the red wire to the F terminals and the White wire to the B terminal. Then tight back the terminal screws with the screwdriver.

Step 7 - Connect the Door Bell

Remove the outer sheathing of two stranded doorbell for the inner copper wire. Strip 1/2 inches from the end. Then set to the top terminal and the bottom terminal. Place the doorbell to the jamb or the wall using the screws.

Step 8 - Wire the Transformer

At the transformer remove the outer sheathing from both the two stranded wire connected to the doorbell and the three stranded wire connected to the door chime. Strip about 1/2 inches then connect properly like this:

Connect the red wire from the chime and the doorbell. Secure them together with the wire nut. Loop the black wire from the chime around one of the terminals on the transformers. Loop the white wire from the button of the bell around the remaining terminal of the transformer. Cap the remaining white wire from the chime with the wire nut.
