A space to shed light on the ideas of the young generation
The project is located in a residual area on the edge of the historic center of Quistello, within the established urban fabric. The idea is to redevelop this area which has been abandoned over the years by creating a small urban park of 2000 square meters and an gathering place dedicated to young people.
The new center will respond primarily to the needs of people aged between 0 and 18 years, but has the flexibility to serve all age groups.
The building consists of a single floor volume, divided into two main areas of 60 and 150 square meters for the main activities as well as the service spaces. It is covered by a glass skin, externally screened by curtains, so as to generate a strong connection with the design of the outer park. The windows let in sunlight, thus creating a bright interior. Dividing the screen into different outdoor curtains allows control over of the amount of light reaching the interior and thus the exposure to appropriate levels of natural light at different times of the year.
The exterior space will be partially partly covered by a garden and partly paved. The paved portion will be located mainly in front of the building to form a small piazza that can also be used for outdoor events.
The structure is made entirely of reinforced concrete, which results in a high thermal inertia that compensates for the lightness of the facades. The design follows the principles of environmental sustainability, reducing energy demand for the operation of the building, and optimizing comfort levels in the outdoor and indoor areas.

Spazio per mettere in luce le idee delle nuove generazioni
Il progetto si colloca in un’area residuale ai margini del centro storico di Quistello, all’interno del tessuto urbano consolidato. L’idea è riqualificare questa porzione rimasta abbandonata negli anni con la creazione di un piccolo parco urbano di 2000 mq e una struttura di aggregazione dedicata ai giovani.
Il nuovo centro dovrà rispondere principalmente alle esigenze della fascia d’età compresa tra 0 e 18 anni, ma presenta una flessibilità tale da permettere l’utilizzo di questo impianto anche a fasce di età superiori.
La costruzione è formata da un volume unico a un solo piano, articolato in due spazi principali di 60 e 150 mq per le attività principali oltre agli spazi di servizio. È rivestita da una pelle vetrata, schermata esternamente mediante tendaggi, in modo da generare una forte connessione con il disegno del parco esterno. Le vetrate consentono l’ingresso della luce solare, e quindi la formazione di un ambiente luminoso. La suddivisione della schermatura in diversi tendaggi esterni permetterà di modulare la quantità di luce e quindi di usufruire di un’illuminazione naturale nei diversi periodi dell’anno.
Lo spazio esterno sarà trattato parzialmente a giardino e pavimentato. La parte pavimentata sarà posizionata principalmente di fronte all’edificio, in modo da formare una piccola piazza utilizzabile anche per eventi esterni.
La struttura è interamente in cemento armato, grazie al quale si ottiene un’inerzia termica elevata che compensa la leggerezza delle facciate. Anche questo progetto segue i principi della sostenibilità ambientale, per ridurre la domanda di energia per il funzionamento dell’edificio e ottimizzare i livelli di comfort in ambiente nelle aree esterne e interne.
