The Village - Urban lighting and furniture

ITA - “The Village” di Meridian nell’Idaho, è un centro commerciale realizzato recentemente dove Neri ha collaborato intensamente con i progettisti e la committenza per illuminare e arredare un luogo di grande valore.

ENTRATA E ILLUMINAZIONE
All’ingresso un grande cancello immette sul viale principale del centro commerciale. Un luogo importante che accoglie i visitatori. Il viale inizialmente è illuminato con alti lampioni a pastorale della serie Castore.
Sono sempre della serie Castore, ma ad una luce con lanterna Light 600, i pali che in doppia fila fiancheggiano il viale.
Un secondo ingresso è illuminato sempre con i pali grandi Castore a pastorale e con i pali piccoli ad una luce.

LA PIAZZA
Nella piazza centrale dove è posizionata la fontana, l’attrazione principale, i pali Castore, sono a 4 luci.

LE STRADE
Lungo le vie interne del centro commerciale i pali Castore montano un’unica lanterna Light 600.

LE MENSOLE
Gli ingressi principali degli uffici e dei vari edifici sono stati differenziati fra loro utilizzando mensole ogni volta diverse.

STREET FURNITURE
In un progetto così articolato, l’arredo urbano rappresenta una componente importante; si tratta di una varietà di manufatti con funzioni molto diverse fra loro, che assolvono ciascuno un ruolo decorativo e funzionale di estrema importanza per la qualità del centro commerciale. È il caso dei cestini della serie Layia.

Su richiesta dei progettisti, Neri ha realizzato anche una serie di pali in ghisa per il sostegno di luci pensili, dislocate in vari punti del centro commerciale. Si tratta di pali in fusione di ghisa analoghi ai pali Castore che contribuiscono a creare un ambiente coordinato ed armonioso.

ENTRANCE AND ILLUMINATION
At the entrance a large gate leads onto the main street of the commercial center. An important place for welcoming visitors.
The twin row of lampposts on the street is Castore series with a ‘Light 600’ lantern.
A second entrance is again lit with the tall Castore series swan neck lampposts and small posts with a single light.

THE SQUARE
In the central square where the fountain is the main attraction, the Castore lampposts have 4 lights.

THE STREETS
Along the streets inside the commercial center the Castore lampposts have a single ‘Light 600’ lantern.

WALL BRACKETS
The main entrances of the offices and other buildings were differentiated using different brackets each time.

STREET FURNITURE
In such an extensive project, street furniture is an important component. There is a variety of products with very different functions, each having decorative and functional roles very important for the quality of the commercial center. This is the case with the Layia series bins.
At the request of the designers Neri has created a series of cast-iron posts for the support of hanging lights, located at various points in the commercial center. These cast iron posts are similar to the Castore posts and help to create a coordinated and harmonious environment.
