Loft metropolitano IM | matca studio/17metriquadri

“Loft Metropolitano” is located in the heart of the multicultural suburb of Torpignattara, South-East of Rome. On the building facade, a large scale mural by the famous German street artists duo Herakut works as an extraordinary intro to the loft: a dynamic space designed to meet the owners' needs and desires. A theatre director Marcello, a journalist and curator Irene, the couple wanted their home to be both welcoming and comfortable in the private parts, such as functional and inspiring in the working areas. The Loft is articulated on two levels, the space is fluid, with no doors except for the bathrooms. An essential iron staircase, painted white, joins the lower and the upper floor. 

On slim tailor-made raw-iron shelves, art books and stunning photos fill every niche with beauty and culture. On the upper floor, Irene's work space - creative hub for her Doll's Eye Reflex Laboratory studio - is characterized by a statement tropical-theme wallpaper, and it's defined by two transparent surfaces. A sliding wall, made in iron and glass, works as a partition between the studio and the kitchen, and a french door allows the access to an open terrace, a green oasis of sunshine and colors.

Il loft metropolitano IM si trova al limite del Pigneto. Sulla facciata del palazzo, il bellissimo murales del duo artistico degli Herakut . Il progetto nasce dall’esigenza di conciliare l’esigenza dei proprietari, entrambi free lance creativi, lui regista teatrale, lei giornalista e curatrice, creando uno spazio dinamico: accogliente ed intimo negli spazi privati, funzionale e pratico nelle zone studio . La casa si articola su due livelli, lo spazio è fluido e privo di porte. Grande attenzione è stata posta ai colori reinterpretati in un contrasto tra il caldo del parquet e della muratura lasciata a vista ed il freddo della scala metallica, bianca e protesa verso la luce del piano superiore e della terrazza. Ovunque, su mensole in ferro esili sono disseminati libri e bellissime fotografie d’autore. Al  piano superiore due grandi vetrate: una scorrevole di accesso al terrazzo; l’altra in ferro e vetro, di separazione tra  la cucina e lo studio di Irene, illuminato dalla parete di foglie di banano.
