La ville de L’Ancienne-Lorette, désirant pallier à un manque d’espace administratif, a accordé à PARKA les services complets en architecture pour l’agrandissement et le réaménagement de son Hôtel-de-Ville.

Dans le cadre du volet aménagement intérieur du projet, notre équipe a fait face au défi de proposer un aménagement contemporain et adapté aux nouveaux besoins de la municipalité, sans dénaturer l’architecture d’origine du bâtiment. Ainsi, nous avons opté pour la mise en valeur d’éléments architecturaux d’intérêt, soit les puits de lumière créés par la fenestration et le volume de toiture, la présence de murs de briques à l’intérieur ou encore la fluidité des espaces entre l’aire d’accueil et la salle du conseil.

Le principe directeur de notre approche conceptuelle fut d’offrir des espaces lumineux et sobres, qui suggèrent une certaine simplicité et transparence tout en mettant de l’avant l’utilisation du bois pour l’ajout d’une touche chaleureuse aux aménagements. Tant dans les nouveaux espaces que dans la partie existante, les teintes sont claires, les lignes simples et l’aspect général complètement renouvelé.

Le réaménagement de la portion existante du bâtiment aura permis de revoir la fonctionnalité de l’aire d’accueil et de la salle de du conseil en plus d’actualiser les salles de rencontres et d’optimiser les espaces de travail. Quant à l’agrandissement, il comprend des installations fonctionnelles, dont plusieurs bureaux, une salle de conférence et une salle pour les employés.

The City of L’Ancienne-Lorette, wishing to overcome a lack of administrative space, granted PARKA the mandate to provide complete architectural services for the expansion and refurbishment of the City Hall.

In the interior design, our team faced the challenge of offering a contemporary and adapted design to the new needs of the municipality, without altering the building’s original architecture. To do so, we decided to showcase the main existing architectural elements of interest like the skylights created by the windows and the roof volume, the interior brick walls and the spatial organisation providing great fluidity between the reception area and the council chamber.

The guiding principle of our conceptual approach was to provide luminous and sober spaces that suggest simplicity and transparency while putting forward the use of wood which added a warm touch to the facilities. In both, the expansion and the refurbished existing area, the color shades are bright and the design lines are simple, making the overall look completely renewed.

The redesign of the existing portion of the building allowed us to review the functionality of the reception area and the council chamber in addition to updating the meeting rooms and optimizing workspaces. As for the expansion, it features functional facilities, including several offices, a conference room and an employee room.
