Cortina is synonymous with tradition and elegance and its architecture, recognized all around the world for the refined and typically Alpine taste that expresses, can only tell a fairy story, made of audacious recoveries and delicate languages, where wood,  stone and furniture of design skillfully combine to transmit all the beauty of a contemporary mountain home. One example is this penthouse apartment, located just a few steps away from the most beloved living room of the Dolomites and from the famous Corso Italia, which celebrates Cortina and its uniqueness. Inserted in a structure built on four levels, this recent project carried out by Outline Studio 74 occupies the second floor and the attic area and, although it is inspired by the past and the traditional rules of the mountain style, it reveals the sophisticated look of the modernity. This happens thanks to the professionalism and the love for architecture of Fabrizio Luchetti, architect, of Giulio De Filippo, surveyor, and of the young designer Monica Giustina, the creative souls of Outline Studio 74, that reinterpret the classic idiom of the Alpine architecture with originality and personality. The wood plays a central role, noble material and tipical of the landscape of the Dolomites, here element of experimentation and guiding thread in the care of the interiors of the entire home. The ceiling with at sight fir beams is a must: here it is the roof of a microcosm of design and contemporary forms, while the floors of fir wood of second coat complete the warm and welcoming atmosphere that only the mountain houses can offer. Outline Studio 74 has chosen thus to enhance the Alpine character of the Dolomites by revisiting the furniture in a modern key, but without ever looking away from the tradition and the original architectural style of Cortina. The result is a linear and youthful furniture made with brushed spruce boards with an antique effect, a synonymous of simplicity, functionality and delicacy in every room. The living area is exactly this way, a refined open space that includes kitchen, dining room and living room,  structured in such an exemplary way so as to ensure to every room the intimacy. Essential and practical, the kitchen combines the artistic knots of the fir wood with the homogeneity of the marble top of Grigio Tao and optimizes the spaces with custom-made wall units. In the living room it is predominant a large sofa which invites to the meeting, heated by the warmth of the wood and by the LED lights, ideal for a relaxing time with the family. Finally a staircase, that leads to the loft, divides the relaxing area from the one dedicated to the lunch: here an elegant table by the unusual square shape and with cubic central support, gives a touch of quality with a refined taste, accompanied by squared chairs that remind a typically Alpine drawing. At the same floor there are a bathroom, a small bedroom and a spacious wardrobe, while the wooden staircase that rises from the living area leads to discover the sleeping area designed in the attic. We are in the most beloved corner of this house: a gentle and romantic loft that houses the master bedroom with views of the Dolomites, accompanied by a large bathroom that shows in all its beauty the resin wood, used for sinks and shower trays, which fits in perfect harmony with the soft and warm touch of the spruce wood. Also here the essentiality of the furniture becomes synonymous with elegance and refinement, the spaces are cleverly exploited through creative and original architectural solutions and the cozy atmosphere invites you to dream, while the two large skylights wink to admire the stars.
