- Project in Reggio Calabria, on seafront of Gallico district.

Particular features Facing on the Sea, that full hugh Reggio Calabria coast and Sicily coast too.

- Customer: Young couple with two kids.

- The project involved the fusion of two adjacent apartments, one of 70 sqm and another 90 sqm, located on the top floor of a tall building, which ends with a gabled roof and along the ridge was the wall separating the two units. Once demolished this wall we had, off the floor to the ridge, an height of about 6 meters which we choose to use for building a loft.

- Crucial points of the project:
. Loft where we place, one study, guest bedroom and a library that besides the main function hides a large wardrobe service, study and library are served by a balcony which allows them to overlook with a double height on the living room and creates a small reading area behind the library.
. Leads to the balcony through a nucleus where there are a storage/laundry area, access to the sleeping area and the stairs that connect to the loft. The stairs consists of a self-supporting frame in pressed steel and wooden beech steps.
.Finally a large living area occupying the entire double height area, separated from the kitchen with a dining area that acts as a filter while allowing the concept of "open space" and the confidentiality required by the customers for this area.

- The combination of white walls and beech wood for the mezzanine and the vertical connections allow to give the apartment a "Mediterranean" connotation without making it appear too hut, missing the metropolitan look.

- Realizzato a Reggio Calabria, località lungomare di Gallico. Dotato di particolare affaccio sul mare che abbraccia la costa Calabrese fino a Reggio e tutta la Sicilia.

- Committenza giovane coppia con due bambini piccoli.

- Il progetto prevedeva la fusione di due appartamenti adiacenti, uno di circa 70 mq e l'altro circa 90 mq, posti all'ultimo piano di un fabbricato molto alto, che si conclude con una copertura a falde e lungo la linea di colmo si trovava la parete che separava le due unità immobiliari. Una volta abbattuta questa parete ci siamo trovati dal pavimento al colmo un'altezza di circa 6 metri che si è utilizzata per poter realizzare un soppalco.

- Punti cruciali del progetto:
. Soppalco dove abbiamo posto uno studio, la camera ospiti e una libreria che oltre la funzione principale nasconde una capiente armadiatura di servizio, lo studio e la libreria sono serviti da un ballatoio che permette loro di affacciarsi con una doppia altezza sul salone principale e realizza una piccola zona relax lettura a ridosso della libreria.
. Si accede al ballatoio attraverso un nucleo dove trovano posto un'area deposito/lavanderia, l'accesso alla zona notte e scalinata di collegamento al soppalco composta da un telaio autoportante in scatolato d'acciaio e con gradini in legno essenza faggio.
.Infine un ampio salone ampio occupante tutta l'area a doppia altezza, separato dalla cucina tramite una zona pranzo che fa da filtro consentendo nel contempo il concetto di "open space" e il riserbo richiesto dai committenti per quest'area.

- La combinazione tra il bianco delle pareti e l'essenza faggio per il soppalco ed i collegamenti verticali permettono di dare all'appartamento una connotazione "mediterranea" senza apparire troppo baita facendone perdere l'aspetto più metropolitano.
