Reconversion of offices | quentin fruchaud architectures

Winner of a tender for the rehabilitation of the logistic service and the conversion of archive space into meeting rooms for an insurance company, the qfa project exposed the brick    vault ceiling hidden by the existing suspended ceiling. This simple contemporary approach revealed the character of the space.

The existing area stripped, Quentin Fruchaud's intervention is marked by the spatial reorganisation of the area and the optimisation of the circulation reconfigured in relation to the new light source; windows instead of obscurity. The white interior is also used to reflect light as well as the lightwell mirror such that users forget they are in the basement.

The acoustic treatment is dealt with by using vertical and horizontal panels which, by their colour and alignment, give energy to the spaces: yellow for the postal service, green for work spaces, orange in reference to the corporate logo.

Occupied during the works without any interruption to activity, construction was undertaken over 16 months in four construction phases.

For qfa, the structural understanding and simplicity of the volumes provide an effective clear and sensitive response of the client brief.
