Built in the 1930s, the Capitol Theater is one of the last still-extant standalone theaters in downtown Manila. Designed by National Artist for Architecture Juan Nakpil, the theater was able to accommodate around 800 moviegoers in its heyday.

Sadly, due to the shift of in-house cinemas inside shopping malls, the Capitol closed its doors. Only its ground floor commercial spaces remain open today.
