The Virtual Museum of Garofalo MuViG, hosted in Canaro, is dedicated to the painter Benvenuto Tisi called “Garofalo” - one of the main representatives of Italian painting during the Renaissance in the city of Ferrara. MuViG is the first virtual museum in Italy consecrate to painting, where there are virtually reproduced many of the painter’s works, whose authentic versions are spread in more than 40 museums located in 12 countries all around the world.

With the aim of representing the images portrayed in these paintings, they have been signed agreements with some of the most relevant museums of the world, such as the Louvre in Paris, the National Gallery and the British Museum of London, the Prado in Madrid, the Hermitage of Saint Petersburg, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Uffizi Galleries of Florence, the Pinacoteca di Brera and the Vatican Museums -just to mention some.

To reproduce all the paintings they have been used the most updated technologies, ranging from HD projectors to interactive interfaces, virtual books, 3D reconstruction through augmented reality and immersive reality journey with virtual glasses –to guarantee a 360 degrees enchanting experience.
The visitor – museum interaction flows through the Beacons, the new Bluetooth low energy technology and then is shared on social networks and website pages.

MuViG takes place in the house that is traditionally identified as the birthplace of the painter; the building has been recovered and renovated and now counts ten rooms dislocated on two floors. The setting would arrange 8 rooms (4 for each floor) organized in a chronological order; each room will be divided into four different environments for an in-depth analysis that would allow visitors to enjoy the exhibition in complete autonomy, choosing their personal path through all the rooms.
Two extra rooms complete the setting: the entrance hall, with a small bookshop in it, and a multifunctional room on the first floor.

The Museum is completely plunged in the touristic-museum circuit that includes the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Ferrara, the Villa Badoer in Fratta Polesine (designed by Andrea Palladio) and the palace Palazzo Roverella in Rovigo.

The museum has a double value: it encourages an high-quality tourism and, in the meantime, is the meeting place for citizens and associations – a versatile and eclectic space.
