Metro station Terekhovo | Sergey Estrin Architectural Studio

The concept design was based on migrating birds  images as well as on landscape of typical Moscow village where the metro station is planned to be built. The migrating birds theme symbolises the dynamics of Moscow metro. The concept creates bright outstanding architectural image of new metro station that is to add to the diverse inimitable picture of Moscow metro interiors as a whole. The most remarkable element is the roof. The smooth curves of its architectural shape resemble a bird with wings flung open. The platform area's design is most dynamic. It's the peak of bird and coast theme. The birds fly away gathering into flocks and flights joining the train departure direction. This method simplifies station navigation. The columns of hardened frosted glass and metal with laser cut cane, grass and birds in perspective graphically form  a line of coast landscape to both sides of the railway tracks. While waiting for a train passengers will stay on the fairytale river coast with the train turning into ship gliding on rails.
