By carrying out such a major refurbishment and by building a full basement with a front light well and a very generous rear patio, we have all but doubled the useful living accommodation within the house. The way that space and light flow through the house has been dramatically enhanced. When we took the project on, the property was a typical Edwardian house, with a number of dark corners. It is now a modernist house with generous areas of full height glazing and very spacious living areas and circulation areas.
