The congress centre in Agen, France by Cardete & Huet architects is characterised by its large amphitheatre which appears to be suspended above the 1000 m² forecourt. The roof gives the setting definition, protects it and seems to link all the buildings on the site. The smooth surface of ALUCOBOND® in white and spectra Desert Gold underlines the straight, modern look of the roof soffit. Using concrete in combination with ALUCOBOND® on external features and then continuing on into the entrance hall connects the exterior with the interior. Light colours give the complex, which serves as venue for diverse events, a sophisticated appearance. On approaching the structure, the first impression is of urbanity and the public domain. This was the architects’ intention when planning the contemporary and communicative congress centre.
