The design concept represents a revolutionary new building concept. The predominant features of the development are cylindrically shaped tubes, which lie parallel to one another. They are connected in the middle by a two-storey transverse link. Curved, laminated timber beams, spanning 20 metres, and set at five metre intervals, support the external ALUCOBOND® skin. A concrete platform is inserted into the building ensuring useable space over two-storeys, while
at the same time stiffening the structure. The tubes’ gable ends are sealed with two extensive
areas of glass with dark blue solar collectors. Thus the design combines aesthetic and functional aspects.
