Alaçatı Port LaDera Hotel is located in Alaçatı, an Aegean town on western coastline of Turkey. The story of Alaçatı to become to be known for its architecture, plants, wind mills and vineyards dates back to 1850s. Being the 3rd best windsurfing center in the world thanks to its uninterrupted wind and pure clean sea, Alaçatı has also become one of popular towns recently for its beaches, cafes and restaurants, stores and night life.

Port LaDera Hotel is on hillside of land located at a position offering charming view of Alaçatı port and windsurfing center. Designed by French Architect François Spoerry, Alaçatı Port was built as replicate of Grimaud Port of Cote’d Azur also designed by him and famous world wide. The villas located in the port and attracting attention with their small gardens and boats owned by villa owners and anchored on sea side have signs integrating reflections of small fisherman town of Aegean Sea with theme of Mediterranean houses.

Having its name meaning “port of the hillside” from its location Port LaDera Hotel was established by three siblings from a well known family of the region and having business places in various parts of Alaçatı for many years. An understanding focusing on service quality and hospitality was aimed in line with the founders’ well familiarity with the region and experiences gained in the sector for many years. In addition to architectural renovation design, interior and outdoor designs, all details from landscaping to bed sheets used in room sections, hotel logo and printed objects have all been created by interior architect and designer Selina Kazazoğlu.

Alaçatı’s architectural texture and natural diversity have formed fundamental starting point of the project. Narrow streets of the town, wooden bay windows, stone door frames of the houses, local stones of Alaçatı used in the buildings have all been inspiring for the designer. The nature and lanscape where the hotel is located has created the colour scheme. Industrial touches have been designed as reflection of boats at the port. Aiming at highlighting value attributed to service quality from start of the design by means of details and materials selection, Selina Kazazoglu has blended her style with two different concepts and targeted to realize a design of hotel where guests will never want to leave. Blending beach and coastline touches with eclectic details, the designer has integrated supplementary points with the industrial symbols of the port.

Having land area of 1.500 m² and total construction site of 940 m², the project consists of 2 deluxe bay window double rooms, 2 deluxe queen double rooms, 10 standard double rooms and 4 garden view triple rooms. Having 3 floors together with basement floor, the first and second floors of the building are designed in L shape. One of the most important point given priority in the project was to create cool and shaded areas as the guests would like to spend most of their times outside due to hot weather. 600 m² of outdoor area is designed to contain pool section, sun bathing area, yoga area, bar and sitting section. Reception part was built as a separate building by use of a plan combining entrance section and lobby.

Being close to windsurfing center, the locations representing beach concept have been decorated with comfortable and shabby chic details to remind sea and coastline. Faded colors of the land are animated with windsurf sail colors and restaurant and bar section designed as enclosed locations are shaded with wicker, the same line is maintained for lighting components. Pool section is designed in a manner to highlight sand plastering texture applied specially with the linear lighting members after sunset. At the same time, rocks representing local texture are illuminated by bottom lighting members and coastline effect has been offered once again. Soft texture, supplementary ceramic objects are selected to remind gravels on the beach.

Details representing the eclectic style which is the other one of the two concepts forming the design are used specifically as indicators of high standards offered by the hotel. Being inevitable component for the designer, the industrial objects support masculine and mass emphasis in all locations while curly details noticed particularly in rooms sections reflect flexible and warm aspects of feminine style. While important architectural movements coming until present time are referred to by means of furniture from various periods, the materials used on the floors all become work of art brought for exhibition from their original regions and times. Giving smell of vanilla and joyful music inspirations somehow, the inside of the hotel is designed and created with textile products with a meticulous work. All towels and sheets are of top quality and pure cotton.
