Established in 1978, Blakes Hotel is regarded as the world’s first luxury boutique hotel. Located in the desirable Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Blakes is famous for its stunning design, elegance and dedicated service. Its uncompromising discretion and privacy has made it the London base for film stars, musicians and top fashion designers, earning its reputation as The "Couture" Hotel. Styled by world renowned designer Anouska Hempel, Blakes is a collection of period Victorian town houses, sympathetically converted to create 45 unique bedrooms and a beautiful restaurant. Anouska Hempel’s work is all encompassing, designing a total-experience from the first step into the hotel to each individual room’s design.

In addition to 45 individually designed rooms, Blakes offers five unique suites for guests, each styled with Anouska Hempel’s premium, ultra-luxurious aesthetic. From the light and airy Corfu Suite with stunning white French Provencal suite to the opulent shades of red and gold in The Cardinal Suite, Hempel’s distinctive design creates a sensual and esoteric place of unconventional luxury.

Blakes Restaurant
On 16th June 2016 Blakes Restaurant officially launched in the heart of Kensington and brings with it the finest Mediterranean influenced menu based around the freshest wild ingredients.
The intimate 57 seat restaurant with an adjoining bar was inspired by Anouska Hempel’s vision of a beautiful old fashioned steamer sailing up the Bosphorus, evoking the travelling spirit that she has always had. The elegant, eclectic and ethnic atmosphere of the restaurant is reflected through the accessories, furniture and artefacts that were found all over the world by Anouska Hempel herself over the many years of her far flung travels. The restaurant exudes luxury with imagination; fine living with a sense of theatre and panache.
