CHARLIE ATELIER. Making Art and cuisine in the Tuscan Maremma (Italy).

The Italian firm CAPUTISTUDIO redesign an old coach house in Orbetello, in the Tuscan Maremma (Italy). After being an old coach house, a taxi garage and an appliance store, the owners wanted to transform the building, creating an atelier with kitchen, where to get comfortably friends and clients and celebrate together the cult of beauty, from architecture and yacht design to art and gastronomy. The philosophy milestone of the project was: “making art & cousine”. The interiors was completely redesigned. A new mixed structure with iron beams and laminated wood inside the old walls, allow a new distribution of the functions that now are on two separeted levels: the ground floor more "public", and more intimate the space upstairs. Thanks to two skylight windows on the new laminated wood roof, the view is open on the cathedral bell tower. The entrance opens the gate onto the medieval town square enclosed on three sides by the church and other historic buildings, overlooking the open side towards the sunset behind the Orbetello's Laguna di Ponente. The entrance is in a empty space from wich you can see directly the wooden structure of the roof, and the second floor. On the left side a conversation area with sofas, coffee tables and armchairs. On the opposite side a rusted iron fountain with a green wall. Charlie Atelier was founded with the mission to pursue the beauty and excellence in all its forms. You can find it by tasting a gourmet delicacy tasting a fine wine, or admiring a work of art, buying the chair on which you sit, or discussing your architecture or yacht design project. The place was born by the will of the owners, travelers, collectors and lovers of design and good taste,that asked to CAPUTISTUDIO to create a place to have a relaxed space where the different professional experiences implemented, could guarantee a unique atmosphere, an original capable of generating new unusual emotions, a different speed of suspended time.
