ENG - Having provided the stairs for three important Milan building projects (Bosco Verticale, Allianz Tower and Unicredit Pavillon), Fontanot once again proves itself an excellent partner for major international projects, docking on the shores of Lake Como, one of the world’s best-loved tourist destinations, at the prestigious “Il Sereno Lago di Como” hotel inaugurated in August of 2016. 

The contemporary structure was designed by Patricia Urquiola – recently named “Designer of the Year” by the prestigious Wallpaper magazine – and includes an entirely custom made Fontanot staircase. Fabio Curcio Valentini with his firm CVHP also took part in the project having been entrusted with both project and site management.

In the majestic lobby, the Fontanot staircase in prized Canaletto Walnut, blends harmoniously with the interior decor, lending it that touch of excellence for which the Italian company is famous.

Fontanot also created another custom made staircase for the occasion: located next to the elevator, LaFont custom leads to the prestigious building’s various floors.

Some of the most quoted national newspapers – The New York Times, Forbes, New York Post and The Times – chose Il Sereno, Lago di Como as one of the world’s 25 best hotels to visit in 2016.

Thanks to its privileged position between the lake and the mountains, the architecture ensures a stunning view and fits perfectly into the landscape, enhancing its natural beauty. The surrounding atmosphere, characterized by sober design and personalized service, was a source of inspiration in the choice of materials: wood and stone are the protagonists, along with copper and textiles; the project represents a true oasis of relaxation, offering many exclusive comforts, such as the small fleet of watercraft designed by Cantiere Ernesto Riva, exclusively for the hotel.

The location is magical also because it’s possible for visitors to arrive directly by boat, admiring Lake Como’s seductive, mirrored surface.

The hotel’s entire F&B offer is managed by multi-starred chef Andrea Berton, the Berton Al Lago restaurant offers dishes that pay homage to local and regional ingredients. In addition to the dining room, the restaurant also offers a charming terrace overlooking the Lake.

ITA - Dopo aver fornito le scale per le tre importanti realizzazioni milanesi (Bosco Verticale, Torre Allianz e Unicredit Pavillon), Fontanot si conferma ancora una volta partner d’eccellenza per grandi progetti internazionali, sbarcando sulle sponde del lago comasco, meta tra le più amate dai turisti di tutto il mondo, all’interno del prestigioso hotel “Il Sereno, Lago di Como” inaugurato ad agosto 2016.

La struttura contemporanea è stata progettata da Patricia Urquiola e prevede una scala Fontanot interamente realizzata su misura, un vero e proprio lavoro “custom made”. In questo progetto è presente anche l’Architetto Fabio Curcio Valentini con la sua società CVHP, a cui è stato affidato il project management e la direzione dei lavori.

Situata all’interno della maestosa lobby, la scala Fontanot in legno pregiato di noce Canaletto, si fonde armoniosamente con l’arredo, dando il tocco di eccellenza e qualità per cui l’azienda italiana è famosa.

Un’altra scala custom made di Fontanot è stata costruita per l’occasione: LaFont custom che, collocata di fianco all’ascensore, porta ai vari piani della prestigiosa struttura.

Il Sereno, Lago di Como è stato selezionato da alcune delle testate internazionali più quotate tra i 25 migliori alberghi al mondo da visitare nel 2016.

L’architettura, grazie alla posizione privilegiata tra lago e montagne, assicura una vista incantevole e si inserisce perfettamente nel territorio, esaltandone la naturale bellezza. L’ambiente circostante, caratterizzato da un design sobrio ed un servizio personalizzato, si è rivelato anche fonte di ispirazione per la scelta dei materiali: legno e pietra sono i protagonisti, insieme a rame e tessuti, del progetto che rappresenta una vera e propria oasi di relax in grado di offrire ogni genere di comfort, come ad esempio la piccola flotta firmata dal Cantiere Ernesto Riva in esclusiva per l’hotel.

La magia di questo luogo è data anche dalla possibilità di raggiungerlo direttamente in barca, ammirando così il seducente specchio del Lago di Como.
