This home, a three-level apartment is situated in a very picturesque neighborhood in Jerusalem. The family, a well-travelled couple that finally settled in Israel after many years abroad, fell in love with this landmark Spanish-style house. It is one of a few houses in Jerusalem where the mandatory ancient Jerusalem stone had not been used.

The aim in this renovation project was to keep the historic feel of the house and to adapt it to the family’s specific needs. This was achieved by using travertine floor tiles in various sizes. A stone arch was erected in the living room and wooden windows were used to provide an authentic Mediterranean feel. The elegant SieMatic kitchen with its central butcher counter   island provides the perfect inspiration for great cooking.

An inner elevator was installed to facilitate movement between the floors.

Finally, classic French furniture was selected to complement and complete our interpretation of a traditional home.
