Traditionally procured, new build teaching block at Joseph Leckie Academy (formerly Joseph Leckie Community Technology College) in Walsall. The project forms part of a site wide development master plan and includes hard and soft landscaping works and interior design.

The concrete and red brick exterior which ties into the context of the existing school and is reflected in the landscape is carved away to form the striking cantilevered entrance.

The building is naturally ventilated through bespoke perforated and patterned vent boxes and is heated by an air source heat pump and solar PV array on the roof.

Internally the palette is a simple combination of birch, concrete, black and white with splashes of yellow; creating a simple, crisp naturally lit learning environment with carefully crafted details.
