Designed to have a direct relationship between inside and outside the house contains 2 longitudinal spatial zones located to the north and south of an east-west spine -Living to the north and Sleeping to the south. These spaces are organized around a central open self-supporting stair aligned with the entry corridor that bisects the front elevation almost symmetrically.

The resultant home is filled with natural light and has been thoughtfully designed to highlight spatial vistas and the breathtaking water views, whilst maintaining privacy from surrounding homes.  It provides sophisticated open plan entertaining spaces and relaxed family areas that can be cleverly opened or closed off as required to suit the needs of a growing family. The design also includes secluded spaces of refuge to enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets, cool breezes in summer and the warmth of the sun in winter, a particularly important requirement of the client. Time was also spent fine-tuning the design and spatial planning to accommodate the specific needs of the family to ensure the home is not only beautiful but also highly functional.

The tapered concrete form provides a frame to maximize views to both front (looking to the Cruise Port Terminal) and rear (toward the Bay) whilst east and west elevations the fenestrations are controlled prevailing ribbon windows that looks into the sky and restricting sightlines to neighbors. At ground level the Kitchen and open living areas on the east have views and access onto secluded garden breezeways. The rear elevation follows a similar story to the front albeit with an open ground plane and accentuated eave protection to both levels of the northern living spaces.
