ENG - Situated in a dense pine forest, the hexagonal plot had no references to the choice of location for the construction. It was conditioned by 'occupation zone' defined by the Master Plan - a circle of 12.50 m radius centered at hexagon that defines the perimeter of the plot.

To take advantage of the characteristics of the plot, sun exposure, the natural slope of the terrain and the nearby surroundings, we chose to define a volume in which the horizontality prevails and that, although split into two levels, the image of earthen construction does prevail by partially burying the lower floor level, in contrast with the verticality of the existing trees.

The construction with reinforced structure, and visible concrete on the lower floor, assuming the function of the material and with a structure and coating of Cumarú wood upstairs - with significant advantages in thermal and acoustic comfort -, develops in a U-shape form, defined by three intersecting volumes, forming an open courtyard to the West, limited, to the South, by the swimming pool.

The ground level, partially buried, is occupied by a storage compartment in the basement area, a two-car garage and the entrance hall, both with North facing access, a support room with private toilet and a compartment that serves simultaneously as laundry and a poolside toilet, the swimming pool being located to the east. There is also a small compartment for pool equipment, with access only from the outside.

Upstairs, the non-permanence areas, as the vestibule and part of the circulation areas, face North. The master bedroom, with toilet support, faces South and West, the remaining two bedrooms, also facing South, turn to the patio, the kitchen faces South and East, and the living room faces South and North, taking advantage of the visual threading on the pool and the golf courses of the allotment, as well as on the patio.

The intervention in the landscape, includes a car access to the North area of the plot, and was designed considering the preservation and reinforcement of the existing plant species.

PT - Situado num denso pinhal, o lote hexagonal não apresentava referências para a escolha do local para implantação. A construção ficou condicionada pela ‘zona de ocupação’ definida pelo respectivo Plano de Pormenor – um círculo de 12,50 m de raio com centro no hexágono que define o perímetro do lote.

Para tirar partido das características do lote, da exposição solar, do declive natural do terreno e da envolvente próxima, optou-se por definir um volume em que a horizontalidade predomina e que, embora desdobrado em dois níveis, faz prevalecer a imagem de construção térrea, por enterrar parcialmente o piso de cota inferior, contrastando com a verticalidade do arvoredo existente.

A construção, com estrutura em betão armado, aparente no piso inferior, assumindo a função do material, e com estrutura e revestimento em madeira de Cumarú no piso superior - apresentando vantagens significativas em conforto térmico e acústico -, desenvolve-se em forma de ‘U’, definido por três volumes que se intersectam, formando um pátio aberto a Poente e contido, a Sul, pela piscina.

O piso 0, parcialmente enterrado, é ocupado por um compartimento para arrumos na zona que funciona em cave, pela garagem com capacidade para dois automóveis e pelo vestíbulo de entrada, ambos com o acesso virado a Norte, por um quarto de apoio com instalação sanitária privativa e por um compartimento que funciona simultaneamente como zona para tratamento de roupas e como instalação sanitária de apoio à piscina, situada a nascente. Existe ainda um pequeno compartimento para os equipamentos da piscina, com acesso apenas pelo exterior.

No piso superior, as zonas de não permanência, como o vestíbulo e parte das circulações, ficam viradas a Norte. O quarto principal, com instalação sanitária de apoio, fica a Sul e Poente, os restantes dois quartos, também a Sul, encontram-se virados para o pátio, a cozinha está virada a Nascente e Sul, e a sala comum a Sul e Norte, tirando partido do enfiamento visual sobre a piscina, sobre um dos campos de golfe do loteamento e ainda sobre o pátio.

A intervenção ao nível dos arranjos exteriores, contempla um acesso automóvel à área Norte do lote e na generalidade foi orientada para manter, reforçar e valorizar as espécies vegetais existentes.
