T. P.'s Apartment | Yamagata Arquitetura

The old apartment in Leme (Rio de Janeiro) was reformed to a German executive extremely excited with Rio de Janeiro, that too he has lived in New York and Paris.

The owner's initial request was just to modernize the bathroom and kitchen reform that it were to become integrated into the living room, as the resident likes to cook and receive friends for a drink.
After the first interview and a visit to the property, we identified other demands and extended the reform project, considering readjust the existing furniture and art collection.

"We joined the collections, reorganized the compositions and suggest a new layout for the existing furniture, increasing valuing all customer pieces, said Paloma Yamagata, architect and author of the project along with his partner Bruno Rangel"

The project prioritized the preservation of original elements of the building's architecture like as wooden windows, taco, old plaster, cabinets and fixtures.

The neutral color palette (wood, white and graphite) in most of the apartments, highlighted the large collection of feather art of the resident without interfering in the compositions, even adding a particular and masculine style to the project.
The exception was the vibrant blue tone of the kitchen, requested by the resident for architects.
