The family business Hans Klotz GmbH has its headquarters in Sigmundskron on the outskirts of the city of Bolzano. The traditional company supplies food companies worldwide with high-quality fruit and vegetables from Italy.

The new company headquarters was integrated into an already existing structure. As an artistic gesture, the volume sits on top of the existing building and protrudes from the surrounding orchards like a polyhedral sculpture. The structure takes up the main outlines of the existing building and opens to the north-west onto the landscape. Enclosed in a clearly defined shell of bronze metal plates, the building has a resemblance to a cut gemstone. The alternation of full and empty spaces results in a dynamic volume.

The company headquarters can be reached via an elegant open staircase taking up the lines of the outer shell and continuing them downwards. A large terrace welcomes visitors and offers employees the opportunity to relax. In addition to the reception area, the first floor houses two open-plan offices. Views of the surrounding landscape with its orchards are a metaphorical return to the company's origins. On the upper floor there is a small bar area, a meeting room and the offices of the management. A private roof terrace with a direct view of Sigmundskron Castle completes the space.

Ein skulpturaler Monolith
In Sigmundskron am Rand der Stadt Bozen hat der Familienbetrieb Hans Klotz GmbH seinen Sitz. Das Traditionsunternehmen beliefert weltweit Lebensmittelbetriebe mit hochwertigem Obst und Gemüse aus Italien.

Das neue Firmenhauptquartier wurde in die bereits bestehende Struktur integriert. Als künstlerische Geste setzt sich das Volumen auf den Bestandsbau und ragt wie eine polyedrische Skulptur aus den umliegenden Obstwiesen hervor. Der Baukörper nimmt die Fluchtlinien des Bestandsgebäudes auf und öffnet sich nach Nordwesten zur Landschaft hin. Umhüllt von einer klar umrissenen Haut aus bronzenen Metallplatten hat das Gebäude Ähnlichkeit mit einem geschliffenen Edelstein. Die Abwechslung von vollen und leeren Räumen hat ein dynamisches Volumen zur Folge.

Zum Firmensitz gelangt man über eine elegante Freitreppe, die die Linienführung der Außenhülle aufnimmt und nach unten fortführt. Eine große Terrasse empfängt Besucher und bietet den Mitarbeitern Gelegenheit zur Erholung. Neben dem Empfangsbereich beherbergt das erste Geschoss zwei offene Großraumbüros. Von diesen eröffnen sich Blicke auf die umliegende Landschaft mit ihren Obstwiesen – eine Rückbesinnung auf den Ursprung des Unternehmens. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich ein kleiner Barbereich, ein Besprechungszimmer und die Büros der Geschäftsleitung. Eine private Dachterrasse mit direktem Blick auf Schloss Sigmundskron vervollständigt das Raumprogramm.

Un monolite scultoreo
La sede aziendale di Hans Klotz GmbH si trova a Sigmundskron, nella periferia della città di Bolzano. L'azienda a conduzione famigliare è distributore mondiale di frutta e verdura di alta qualità.

La nuova sede aziendale è stata integrata con l’edificio esistente. In un gesto artistico, il nuovo volume posto sopra l'edificio esistente sporge sui lati e si affaccia verso i frutteti circostanti come una scultura poliedrica. La struttura prosegue i contorni principali dell'edificio esistente e si apre a nord-ovest verso il paesaggio. La sua ossatura ricorda la forma di un guscio, deciso, robusto e ben definito, composto da lastre di metallo in bronzo. La sua forma assomiglia a una pietra preziosa volutamente tagliata. L'alternanza di spazi pieni e vuoti fa risultare il volume una forma “in movimento”.

La sede amministrativa è raggiungibile attraverso un'elegante scala aperta che riprende le forme lineari dell'involucro esterno. Una grande terrazza accoglie i visitatori ed offre ai dipendenti la possibilità di una pausa rilassante. Al primo piano, invece, sono situate l’area reception e due uffici open space.
