CLIMAX 2015 — COP 21 Paris / France / 2015
Risks?
Place Madeleine Braun : pause within the urban fabric
Rare breathing moment along the daily path of many parisiens ; the light, the clearance and the vegetation of this place makes it suitable for awakening. But how can one transmit a vision in the time lap of a crossing ?
The day after COP 21 : a new start
Let’s choose the day following the COP 21 as a symbol for a new beginning. Passers-by invest the construction site and offer their time to participate in the weaving of a new structure. The citizens’ commitment is strong and hopeful. The pavillion is becoming the symbol of a new, local and responsable social fabric.
Committed structure
The project is materialised in the form of a gridshell structure. Easily dismantled and transportable, it is made of oak tree, a local material with almost zero embodied energie.
Bad habits
Our habits can’t disapear completely within a month of conferences. Unbeknownst of the citizens, the structure is recovered with a skin symbolizing our unconscius obsession to apply unnecessary coating to everything surrounding us.
Purified by the rain
The skin that was recovering the pavilion is soluble in the water. As if the climat was giving us a lesson, the rains of mars are melting down this trace of our old society.
Nature taking back its rights
The structure being liberated from it burden and the spring’ sun rays heating it, nature grabs onto it and grows on it. The newly created vegetal filter offers us a fresh look on the city.
