The building was originally built in 1927. It had multiple partitions and was poorly lit but it kept most of the original features. We worked the project to provide a complete new sensation of space and light . On the other hand , there were different elements of the time that we found very interesting to retrieve and update, to keep the original spirit of the building mixed with a contemporary concept of space.

The renovation encompassed 300 square meters where the intention was to avoid the existing walls leaving a clearer and open space. We enhaced the natural light and used steel and glass partitions making them work as "membranes", arranging the space rather than dividing it. The original friezes and wooden coffered ceilings were preserved but were all veiled in white to contribute to the space effect we were looking for. We also kept and recovered most of the original wood flooring and hidraulic tiles in the areas it was possible.

We intended to preserve the building's essence but reorganizing the space and materials for the actual uses.
