From some distance away you can already see the change. The acomhotel in Munich blends in with its surroundings thanks to a new façade and alludes to these surroundings in its interior. The ambience of the Residenzstadt [former residence of the monarchs of Bavaria] with its impressive parkland is conveyed by colours and materials. Dignified yet modern, the colours gold and ochre together with mint and oak establish the atmosphere of the newly refurbished reception and restaurant area.

In addition to a uniform design language, the design itself fulfils the aim, on an area of 300 m2, of having clear room division and of integrating a variety of different seating areas to ensure high-quality recreation. The foyer is subdivided into the functional areas of reception and bar, with each of these connected to a cosy seating alcove. The restaurant with buffet counter forms a separate room with access to the patio.

A recurring feature is the wooden slats in a linear arrangement which separate off different zones. Their graphic structure is enhanced by the positioning of the pendant lights and tables. In the restaurant, they take up the theme of the rounded façade and give the room a dynamic quality. Another defining characteristic of the interior is traditional wall panelling in the alcove areas which contrasts with contemporary lights and industrial aesthetics. The latter can be found for example in the form of a painted steel mat which is visible in the entrance as a ceiling installation.
