“Change is like a river, which may flow fast on the surface, and yet to be quite still at the deepest level.''
We realized this project based on the idea to express the community cultural identity and authentic regional architecture, creating a continuity between past and present, a transition between old and new, preserving the elements that define it.
The transition, old -new architecture, is accomplished by interpreting the defining elements in a modern manner, ”borrowing” elements and proportions, all in order to create a step forward, a new legacy for future generations. In this regard, I made a house with a form that follows family, a house for family and community creating collective form for a family village.
The house was designed to be built in a neighborhood, in a square-shaped neighborhood, with houses positioned peripherally and in the middle of the square, a large garden, where residents will have direct access; extrapolating, moving from a small-scale, the court represent the heart of the house and at a larger scale, the garden represent the heart of the community .
The concept of these project is the close link between the heart of the everyday life, represented by the court of the dwelling and the community heart, represented by the major garden. To this link adds the philosophy of the house itself, characterized by duality: the close relationship between interior- outside, top-down, family-world surrounding, heaven- earth, God-man.
