The layout of some apartments, even those in a new luxurious complex, is often, unfortunately, not very well thought out. This apartment of 53 square meters - 2kk is a classic example.

The original layout in such a small space was unnecessarily complicated and the location of the living room/kitchen compared to the bedroom was not suitable at all. There were both the shower cubicle and the bath in the bathroom and too deep separate room with the toilet. The only room we considered to be correctly situated was the utility room.

From the original layout of the apartment, we only retained the position of the toilet, bathroom and utility room. We made the room with the toilet smaller, and changed the bathroom so the utility room became a part of it. The rest of the apartment underwent complete reconstruction. We switched the positions of the bedroom and living room, thus creating a pleasant space for a kitchen and even a dining table.
Generally, in such a small apartment, people should consider one floor that would both connect the whole place and have visual appeal. No moldings was a certainty. Since we wanted a wooden floor -even in the bathroom - one of the few options (at an affordable price) was an industrial mosaic of Burmese teak.
The entire apartment is decorated in white, combined with oak and glass. It represents a combination of a modern interior and elements of Etno style.
The dominant feature is the extensive library with its tracking panels that divide the wall into working and private sections. The owner loves orchids, so we applied the pattern using our own manufactured wallpaper on both the tracking panels and the bedroom wall.
The dining table/desk, made from solid oak, was situated in the library and its intentionally oblique angle dynamized the corner of the room. Solid oak was also used on the kitchen worktop. When it comes to a combination of white and oak, choosing the dining chairs Vitra DAW is simply a duty. Overall, this beautifully connected the entire living area with the kitchen and table.
The coffee table by the sofa is our own design and manufacture, made from the remaining floor boards. The upper glass plate matches the Besta TV set from Ikea and the predominantly glass bathroom.

The bedroom is decorated in cozy shades, but still adheres to the combination of white and oak. The picture above the bed is the original brought by the owner from Thailand, as well as some decorations used throughout the apartment ...

This apartment is perhaps a shining example of the fact, that for the available money you can build a nice and original space that reflects the personality and the needs of man, in this case those of a young woman.
