Andrews, a high end Toronto based women’s clothing, jewellery and fashion accessories retailer engaged Designstead to create a new store concept that respected the flavor of its established brand while modernizing the look of their bricks and mortar space.

Hints of classic detailing are combined with industrial finishes to create an impressive modern interior that is neither sterile nor intimidating. A neutral palette of contrasting tones, textures and finishes as well as layered lighting schemes create a space that is dramatic yet comfortable and approachable.

Industrial materials set against more polished finishes and millwork create a sense of juxtaposition within the space. The 30’ high storefront is anchored by layered laser cut blackened steel panels that create a sense of movement as viewers pass the store. The large scale custom lantern light fixtures occupy the two-storey volume in the storefront display window as well as anchor various areas within the retail space. 

Tufted leather ottomans grounded by unique area carpets imbue a residential feel at the service points within the shop.

The combined elements create an experience reflective of the lifestyle of the Andrews shopper.
