Especially requested by Adrien Gloaguen, the internationally renowned designer, Dorothée Meilichzon, has given her inspiration and her talent free reign in order to lend the Hotel Paradis its identity and its atmosphere on the terms and conditions specified. Here we meet one of the greatest talents of her generation to whom we owe, amongst other things, The Beef Club.

The visual identity of the Hotel Paradis sets the tone and invites you to cross the threshold of this most exclusive haven of peace which is sure to become one of Paris’s most sought after addresses. Every detail of the hotel carries her stamp. « Adrien liked my work and offered me this new and interesting opportunity » confides this young lady for whom the project has been a big first. « What attracted me to the challenge was the chance to take a two star hotel and turn it into a three star hotel, a product accessible to a greater number.

The idea is to improve and widen the range of hotels in Paris ». Dorothée immediately found the right approach and developed her strategy : « To play on the Parisian greyness that some visitors can sometimes feel, the narrowness of the adjacent streets and the cool cosy feel that awaits them at No 41, Rue des Ecuries, in such a dense and popular area of Paris as the 10th arrondissement ».

She offers them a veritable «decompression chamber». « The customer must first of all connect with his surroundings in order to quickly feel at home in a place where everything is subtle, soft, and round ». There was no question for her of creating a themed hotel. She preferred instead to concentrate on the atmosphere. « I thought about the universe of sleep, of dreams and from this inspiring subject I extrapolated three things : clouds, sky and birds. This is how the birds of paradise came to take flight on some of the walls, bringing a touch of poetry to the hotel. With ceilings of unequal heights, structures and features that differed from floor to floor, she worked with precious allies such as trompe l’oeil wall paper, discreetly shimmering fabrics and paintings.

The young woman also worked with brass and golden tones to achieve an exceptional quality of light throughout. Sometimes subdued, sometimes bright, the lighting reflects natural light fluctuations thanks to a dimmer switch which allows rhythms to be created following the movements of the sun. While each room is unique, they all possess a common denominator : they are all welcoming. Dorothée has taken particular care over the details, which are not details to her, for example by working on the headboards of the beds. « In hotels, they are always conceived on the same design, I wanted to think them  their mark on the independent hotel business of the XXIst century. They embarked on the adventure four years ago with great success. Coming from additional worlds - fashion and communication for her, trade for him: they have trumped everything with The Hotel Paradis. « We wanted to reboost this small Parisian hotel of 38 rooms, give it acclaim and even a bit more than that ». The message is clear : « Our signature is the decor. Our priority is service to retain customers, mainly tourists ». They instilled in their hotel a special amosphere in line with the neighborhood that grew in strength and range. The choice of Dorothée Meilichzon was clear to them in order to achieve this goal. « We have a crush on her creations in Paris, London and New York. Dorothée has revamped bars where we like to go. We are delighted with the result. It is not a coincidence that the press is closely following her career. She’s got a style ! » This subtle blend of genres (loft, studio, boutique hotel) and styles (retro-modern-Scandinavian) has an impressive richness. « We wanted to break with routine while sticking to the customers and the history of the tenth arrondissement ». Mission accomplished for the Hotel Paradis which exudes a unique atmosphere with individually designed rooms not without their surprises. At the corner of a balcony or a small terrace, the roofs of the capital emerge, the iron lady stands out in the Parisian sky : a genuine postcard ! The 33m2 suite with exposed original beams and splendid views of the Sacrécoeur is a must. The guest will love these places to stay for one night or more, between modernity and nostalgia ; they promise to be unforgettable. If you ask the owners what they are most proud of, they do not hesitate : « Having taken a gamble on this micro neighbourhood. We are pleased to say : « This is our home! , this is your home » ! Thanks to this perfectly renewed hotel, a little corner of paradise somewhere in the Petites Écuries street is unveiled.
